Charla has been working exclusively with adult males and females who have sexually offended for 17 years. Charla is one of the owners of SOS and is the Program/Clinical Director. She has had her approved full operating treatment provider and evaluator status from the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board for 15 years. Charla believes all people should be treated with respect and carries this perspective into her work with this population.

Gary is a career-shifter having worked 18 years in research engineering utilizing his MS Engineering degrees and management before retooling as a master’s level psychotherapist in 1995. Since then, he has worked with families experiencing divorce, juveniles who committed sex offenses, and for the past decade he has worked with adult males who have sexually offended. Gary gained his doctorate in Psychology in 2012. He is a co-owner of SOS and the clinical supervisor for the Boulder/ Longmont and Fort Lupton offices. He also serves as the program developer for many of the customized treatment manuals.

Alice graduated with a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Chapman College in 1988 and a Masters of Arts in Dance Therapy from Hunter College in 1979. Alice has evaluated and treated adult sex offenders for seventeen years. She is skilled at working within the adult justice system. Alice has a broad experience working with children and adult survivors of sexual abuse. She enjoys working with couples and families and is highly effective in engaging people in the process of positive change. She is a co-owner of Specialized Offender Services established in 2005.

Terry received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in 2000 and began working with children who were victims of sexual abuse and trauma. She has been working with the sex offender population for thirteen years as a treatment provider and evaluator and is a Full Operating Level Treatment Provider and Evaluator. In addition, she continues to work with adults and children who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma and she is trained in EMDR (Level II).

Susan worked in sex offense specific treatment from 2000 to 2004 and 2013 to the present. She is listed with the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board as an Associate Level Provider and Evaluator. Susan holds a Clinical Psychology master’s degree from the University of Colorado Denver and has been a Licensed Addiction Counselor since 2006, with training in offender and offense specific substance use disorders counseling.

Laurie Knight has specialized in the assessment and treatment of sexual offenders, victims and families for 35 years. She is a contributing author to the Web of Meaning; A Developmental Contextual Approach to Sexual Abuse Treatment (Safer Society Press, 1999). She has been an active member and chair for various task forces, councils, sub-committees (SOMB) and boards, including an appointment by Governor Hickenlooper to the State Board of Registered Psychotherapists, Department of Regulatory Agencies. She has been listed with the SOMB as both an evaluator and treatment provider as well as an Approved Treatment Provider for the Department of Corrections since 2005. Laurie has an expertise in working with families where sexual abuse has occurred or is a potential risk including facilitating the clarification and family re-integration process, approved supervisor training, and support services for non-offending family members. She also specializes in trauma specific services for sexual offenders.

Kris began her work with sex offenders in 2007 and has been an Associate Level Treatment Adult Provider since 2010. As an advanced generalist, masters level social worker Kris excels in her awareness and knowledge of community resources and the interface of clinical needs of her clients. She has a background in law enforcement, victim services, restorative justice, adults with developmental disabilities and non violent communication.

Reyna is an Associate Level Treatment Provider for adults who have sexually offended. Reyna has provided therapeutic services within the criminal justice field for over 10 years. Working alongside a multitude of populations, Reyna has consulted, coached and worked within the governmental, educational, corporate, non-profit and private sectors. Reyna believes that incorporating a professional approach into her work, this will elevate the positive potential of everyone in our community.

Joy has been working with sex offenders since the summer of 2015 as a SOMB Approved Associate Level Provider and Evaluator. Prior to that she served the sex offender pre-sentence population in her private practice for two years. Her specialty is in administering, scoring and writing evaluations, including those for Adult Attention Deficient (ADD) disorders, intellectual testing (including learning disorders), and memory disorders. She is also able to provide a complete neuropsychological assessment battery.

Kathryn received her Master’s in Counseling from Regis University in 2015. She has been working with adult males who have sexually offended for a year and a half. Kathryn has her Associate Level Provider status from the Colorado Sex Offender Management Board. Before working with this population, she worked with adults who are diagnosed with a Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, and was a Mental Health First Aid instructor.

Rebecca is a recent graduate of Naropa University and have been working with sex offenders for one year. Rebecca is currently undergoing initial SOMB status approval, and is interested in mindful awareness of how the authentic presence in the world can affect change by inviting others to show up authentically. From this place, lasting change can begin.

Jacenta graduated from Naropa University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Transpersonal Art Therapy in 2017. She completed her internship at SOS and was hired on to continue working with adult males who have sexually offended. Before coming to SOS she worked with adolescents, children and families in crisis in addition to attending multiple trainings around trauma work and suicide ideation. Jacenta works to bring a new treatment modality of art therapy to the cognitive behavior treatment structure of SOS. She is currently an SOMB Associate Level Approved Treatment Provider. Jacenta is working towards obtaining her LPC and ATR.

Alex is a recent graduate of Naropa University with her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Mindfulness and Transpersonal Psychology. She has been working with adults who have committed sexual offenses and believes in working with clients from a holistic approach. By acknowledging clients as a whole person, despite their offense, she incorporates modalities such as CBT and Gestalt in her therapy.
